NOM is a new hip space for dessert and coffee lovers. Located within short distance to other popular café, NOM has to set itself apart architecturally, spatially and stylishly. Re-Edge is not only designing the space but helps the clients generating the brand by offering more than just food but extra facilities such as a design library and a gallery.
The design of NOM as a whole consists of three disciplines, architecture, interior design and landscape design. Facing to the south, expressive structural overhang controls the amount of light and heat entering the building as well becoming the main architectural feature from the street together with the void on the façade. In order to draw attention to what is inside NOM, wooden pattern folded from the main entrance to become ceiling, tabletop, bookshelves, flooring, ordering counter and stair. This design feature also cut through the raw concrete flooring, creating different edges for different zones of seating and scale of gathering within space.
